Julian Joseph Trio & the BBC Concert Orchestra

Julian Joseph has an international reputation as a jazz virtuoso. His collaborations are varied and dynamic - most recently working with jazz artists such as George Coleman, Jools Holland and Bheki Mseleku, as well as singers Des'ree, Carmen Lundy and Mica Paris. The stage is set for an evening of great jazz music, interwoven with cool contemporary classical masterpieces and performed by some outstanding musicians.

The Burning Bush & the BBC Concert Orchestra
Robert Ziegler, Conductor

Led by singer and broadcaster Lucie Skeaping, The Burning Bush combines foot-tapping dances of the Klezmer bands of Eastern Europe with mystical ballads of the Jewish ghetto. Playing an array of exotic instruments like the Oud, Kanun and Laouto they join forces with the BBC Concert Orchestra for an evening of traditional and specially created works based on Jewish themes.
